Boyds does make a pretty good stock, especially for the price. I have stocked several mauser 98 sporters with both walnut and laminate stocks from Boyds. i have been happy with both. BTW, i am more than half convinced that the varmint thumbhole stocks that Savage puts on their rifles are supplied by Boyds. DW

Is there a proper way to tighten the two bedding screws and a proper torque I should aim for? Like tighten one to a certain setting, then the other, then torque the first to spec, then the other.
