In our first year of being open, we have rescued over 1,500 animals off of the streets of Fort Smith. We are expecting to finish 2021 with over 4,000 animals rescued. Our mission is to provide non-lethal solutions to the homeless, abandoned, and feral animal population of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Fort Smith Animal Control and the city remain focused on ensuring success through the new Kitties and Kanines Shelter contract and progressive animal services. We were able to switch the younger kittens to Nurse and begin the weaning process with a foster home for the older kittens. Nurse took to the new kittens like a champ and we were able to treat Bloom's wound. Bloom will be up for adoption soon.
